Our love story with Creede, Colorado began in the summer of 1983. That was the year Michael first brought me to this hidden gem of a town—one his family had cherished since the 1930s. I still remember that first drive through the canyon: the golden cliffs, the whisper of the Rio Grande, and the sense that time slowed down just for us. There was something about this place that immediately felt like home.

What began as a summer trip soon became a lifelong tradition. Each year, we found ourselves drawn back to these mountains—our sanctuary. Days were spent exploring the trails, fishing the river, and breathing in that crisp mountain air. Evenings meant cozy fires, laughter over board games, and the simple joy of being together, disconnected from the world. As our daughter always says, “Creede is where our family is happiest.”

Over the decades, this land has held our most treasured memories—quiet mornings with coffee on the porch, spontaneous celebrations under the stars, and countless moments that reminded us what matters most.

As the years passed and Michael entered retirement, it felt only natural to open our beloved retreat to others. For me, hospitality has always been a part of who I am. My career began in the bridal and event world—helping couples design and celebrate their most meaningful days. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, my greatest joy has always been creating experiences that reflect the heart of those involved.

Now, combining that lifelong passion with the place that has brought our family so much joy feels like coming full circle. Our hope is that this land will become a backdrop for new stories—whether it’s a peaceful escape, a celebration of love, or simply a moment to breathe in the quiet beauty of the mountains.
